CASE Foundation information on Giving Challenge

Reflections on America’s Giving Challenge


For the past several weeks, Beth Kanter and Allison Fine have been evaluating the 2009 America’s Giving Challenge and its role in helping nonprofits to raise funds and engage supporters online. As part of their review, they’ve conducted “living” case studies, delving into the success of various winning organizations, such as Darius Goes West and Students for a Free Tibet, and have shared the secret sauce for winning online contests. In their reflections, Beth and Allison have come to some interesting conclusions surrounding some of the key concepts they were exploring – from the advantages of being a small organization to understanding and appreciating failures. Corporate leaders explore the future of business and philanthropy at CECP
Last week, corporate philanthropy and social responsibility leaders gathered in New York City for the Corporate Philanthropy Summit, in an effort to carve out a path toward better alignment of their efforts with business strategy. From Jean Case to Colin Powell, speakers representing worked together to discuss opportunities and lessons learned and to present CECP’s Excellence Awards to four outstanding corporations for their exceptional work in CSR.
